WINDTRE ups 5G TDD coverage to 70%

Italian fixed and mobile operator WINDTRE has expanded its TDD 5G network to cover 70% of the country’s population. Its 5G FDD network coverage remains at 95.9%. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that the 5G network went live in November 2020, claiming nearly 74% (FDD) coverage within a couple of months, rising to 95% by August 2021 and reaching the current 95.9% figure by August 2022.
