Paris-based telecoms company Iliad Group has published its financial results for the three months ended 31 March 2023, reporting a 13.0% increase in its consolidated revenues to EUR2.186 billion (USD2.36 billion), up from EUR1.934 billion in 1Q22, with its operations in France generating EUR1.442 billion (up 7.6% year-on-year), while its Italian unit contributed revenues of EUR241 million by end-March 2023 (up 12.6% y-o-y). Play in Poland, meanwhile, generated revenues of EUR507 million in the three months under review, up 32.1% annually. EBITDAaL for the three-month period was EUR783 million, up 9.6% y-o-y, and profit for the period reached EUR59 million (EUR477 million in 1Q22). Consolidated CAPEX, meanwhile, increased by 19.0% y-o-y, to EUR553 million (EUR465 million in 1Q22).
Iliad also disclosed that the integration phase between Play and newly acquired unit UPC Poland – and the creation of a FiberCo – was completed on 31 March 2023.
In operational terms, Iliad Group’s mobile subscription base in its domestic market reached 14.390 million by 31 March 2023, up from 14.218 million in December 2022. In Italy, Iliad reported a total of 9.849 million mobile subscriptions at end-March, up from 9.567 million in the previous quarter, while Poland had a total of 12.832 million mobile subscriptions (12.763 million in 2022). The number of fixed broadband subscriptions in France, meanwhile, reached 7.222 million, with fibre subscriptions standing at 4.870 million. The number of connectable fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) nodes reached 32.5 million (31.3 million at end-2022).
