Converge ICT lights up Boracay fibre broadband services

5 May 2023

Converge ICT Solutions yesterday (4 May) announced the launch of fibre broadband services in Boracay, as part of a wider objective to deploy its fibre-optic infrastructure on neighbouring Panay Island. The group’s co-founder and CEO, Dennis Anthony Uy, said: ‘The infrastructure here in Boracay is part of the whole Panay Island, not only in Boracay’. Uy went on to confirm that his company invested almost PHP2 billion (USD36.1 million) in its latest service expansion, adding: ‘We selected Boracay because it’s a tourist destination and there’s so many complaints of poor service’. Converge ICT is targeting the consumer segment as well as SMEs and enterprise customers, he noted.
