A statement from Poland’s Office of Electronic Communications (Urzad Komunikacji Elektronicznej, UKE) says that mobile operators Play (P4) and Plus (Polkomtel) last week applied to extend their respective 900MHz licences for 15 years until the end of 2038. The regulator has opened consultation processes for the two applications. 900MHz spectrum is currently used to support 2G and 3G services. Play holds paired frequencies between 880.1MHz-885.1MHz/925.1MHz-930.1MHz while the Plus application covers its spectrum holding at 885.1MHz-890.1MHz/930.1MHz-935.1MHz.
