Tigo has committed to invest PAB500 million (USD500 million) in Panama over the next five years. The figure was divulged by Millicom CEO Mauricio Ramos during a meeting with President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen last week. In the previous four years, Tigo has invested PAB475 million in Panama, the chief executive revealed. This investment bankrolled network improvement work which extended fixed or mobile connectivity to 250,000 previously unserved citizens. Tigo’s 4G LTE network now covers 95% of the population, Ramos added.
