AT&T Communications has completed what it describes as ‘the first 5G Standalone (SA) carrier aggregation (CA) uplink data call in the US’. The test was conducted at AT&T’s labs using Nokia’s 5G AirScale portfolio and MediaTek’s 5G M80 mobile test platform. For the purpose of the trial, AT&T aggregated spectrum in the 850MHz and 3.7GHz bands, achieving peak upload speeds of 120Mbps.
