Entel boosts Bolivian fibre, mobile coverage

State-backed Bolivian telco Empresa Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Entel) has revealed that it extended its fibre networks by 2,512km in 2022, and now has 32,508km of fibre in service. In terms of mobile coverage, Entel now boasts a total of 10,200 cell sites in operation, of which 62% are situated in rural areas. As a result of the rollout activity, 20,152 locations now have either fixed or mobile broadband access, or 82% of the 24,684 population centres in Bolivia.
