Proximus begins rollout of 10Gbps ‘Ultra Fiber’ services

24 Feb 2023

Belgian full-service operator Proximus has begun rolling out its new 10Gbps ‘Ultra Fiber’ connections in Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels, Liege and Namur. The company revealed via Twitter that it plans to extend availability to all homes within its fibre footprint by the summer. Capable of supporting maximum download/upload speeds of 8.5Gbps/1Gbps, the new option is available with Proximus’s ‘Flex’ multi-play packages for EUR30 (USD31.8) per month on top of the existing EUR12 monthly gigabit upgrade to its standard fibre connections. The operator’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network passed 1.282 million premises at end-December 2022, equivalent to national fibre coverage of nearly 21%.
