HKT claims ‘solid’ performance in 2022

Hong Kong operator HKT, part of PCCW Group, has reported revenues (excluding mobile handset sales) of HKD30.50 billion (USD3.89 billion) for full year 2022, up 2% year-on-year. The growth was attributed to strong demand for fixed broadband and 5G services. EBITDA rose 3% to HKD13.06 billion, though pre-tax profit fell 4% to HKD5.56 billion.

The operator claimed 1.06 million 5G subscriptions at the end of 2022, representing 32% of its overall post-paid mobile subscription base. Fixed broadband subscriptions rose by 4,000 in twelve months to reach 1.47 million, while pay-TV subscriptions were up 2% at 1.40 million.
