Hong Kong operator HKT, part of PCCW Group, has reported revenues (excluding mobile handset sales) of HKD30.50 billion (USD3.89 billion) for full year 2022, up 2% year-on-year. The growth was attributed to strong demand for fixed broadband and 5G services. EBITDA rose 3% to HKD13.06 billion, though pre-tax profit fell 4% to HKD5.56 billion.
The operator claimed 1.06 million 5G subscriptions at the end of 2022, representing 32% of its overall post-paid mobile subscription base. Fixed broadband subscriptions rose by 4,000 in twelve months to reach 1.47 million, while pay-TV subscriptions were up 2% at 1.40 million.
