7 Feb 2023

Telekom Deutschland (TD), the domestic operating unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), says it increased fixed broadband speeds for an additional 909,000 households in December 2022. The firm revealed that 35 million homes can access maximum data rates of up to 100Mbps and the number of 250Mbps-enabled lines has reached over 28 million nationwide. In addition, TD states that the total number of households passed by its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network rose by 276,000 in December, to 5.4 million, enabling maximum speeds of up to 1Gbps. Last year, 5.7 million households were able to benefit from TD’s upgrade and expansion work.

‘We provide Germany with a fast and sustainable network,’ said Abdu Mudesir, Managing Director Technology at Telekom, adding: ‘Our infrastructure brings people together and opens up new perspectives, both professionally and privately. In doing so, we are making an important contribution to leading society into a modern, digital future.’
