NOVA to finalise 3G shutdown in March

13 Jan 2023

Greek fixed and mobile operator NOVA says it plans to complete its 3G network shutdown by the end of March. Connectivity will be phased out on a region-by-region basis, beginning with Macedonia and Thrace in mid-February and ending with Attica in March. 3G spectrum will be reassigned to NOVA’s 4G and 5G networks. The firm says its 2G network remains in operation to support customers with older handsets.

TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that NOVA, owned by United Group, now includes the operations of Wind Hellas, with the combination of the two sister companies having been completed in the last few weeks.
