Malaysia’s DNB surpasses 2022 5G rollout goal

Malaysia’s state-owned 5G network operator Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) said it achieved almost 50% coverage of populated areas at the end of 2022, easily exceeding its target of 40% coverage. It is now aiming to reach 80% of populated areas by end-2024, by which time the network will be available to more than 30 million individuals and businesses. It had deployed equipment at 3,900 sites by the end of 2022. Coverage in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya is already above 97%, and almost 90% in Selangor.
