SBB announces completion of GIGA project

Serbian ISP SBB has announced the completion of its GIGA Serbia project, under which it has rolled out fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure in all 36 of the cities in which it operates. SBB began the upgrade programme in 2017, although its deployment of fibre-based access networks started the following year, and it has invested around EUR300 million (USD320 million) in the project. SBB is continuing to upgrade its facilities and is now working on improving potential throughput to 10Gbps.
