Orange Cote d’Ivoire has expanded its fibre broadband access services to the country’s third most populous city, Korhogo, adding to the operator’s existing high speed fibre network coverage in the capital Abidjan plus other cities including Assinie, Yamoussoukro, Bouake, San Pedro and Daloa. Cote d’Ivoire’s Communications and Digital Economy Minister, Amadou Coulibaly, heralded the event on Twitter, stating: ‘The launch of Orange Fibre in Korhogo is a success.’ The latest expansion was hailed as an important step in a national plan for the universalisation of high speed fibre connectivity.
TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Orange Cote d’Ivoire dominates the country’s retail fixed broadband market, with approximately 96% of all subscriptions at end-September 2022.
