Telekom boosts fixed broadband speeds for 516,000 homes

Telekom Deutschland (TD), the domestic operating unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), says it increased fixed broadband speeds for an additional 516,000 households in September. The firm revealed that more than 34 million homes can access maximum data rates of up to 100Mbps and the number of 250Mbps-enabled lines has reached 28 million nationwide. In addition, TD states that the total number of households passed by its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network rose by 215,000 in September, to 4.5 million, enabling maximum speeds of up to 1Gbps. Since the beginning of the year, more than four million households have benefited from TD’s upgrade and expansion work.
