A1 Telekom Austria Group posts 7.2% rise in Q3 revenue

19 Oct 2022

A1 Telekom Austria Group has reported total revenues of EUR1.292 billion (USD1.27 billion) for the third quarter of 2022, a rise of 7.2% from EUR1.205 billion in the year-ago period, mainly driven by service revenue growth in all markets, as well as a 15.9% jump in equipment revenues due to a sizeable project in Austria. Group EBITDA grew by 7.8% from EUR480.2 million in Q3 2021 to EUR517.5 million twelve months later, as revenue growth compensated for higher core operating expenses. Excluding one-off and currency exchange effects as well as restructuring charges, group EBITDA increased by 4.9% year-on-year. A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a 13.4% increase in net profit from EUR181.0 million to EUR205.2 million over the same period, as solid operational performance outweighed higher income tax expenses.

At 30 September 2022 A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a total of 23.776 million mobile subscriptions, an increase of 4.6% year-on-year, mainly driven by a strong increase in M2M subscriptions and strong demand for mobile Wi-Fi routers. Total fixed RGUs grew by 1.7% y-o-y from 6.052 million to 6.154 million at end-September 2022, as growth in high bandwidth broadband and TV RGUs in almost all international markets outweighed a fall in the number of RGUs in Austria.
