Movistar Venezuela has unveiled plans to invest USD270 million in the expansion of its mobile networks over the next two years. Company president Jose Luis Rodriguez Zarco commented: ‘We are aware of the responsibility we have as a telecommunications company. Our economy has been showing signs of reactivation and we want to be part of that recovery – grow and go at the pace that our capacity allows. We are recovering, reversing a stage of low investment in recent years. Even so, we still have a long way to go and a lot of effort to make.’ To date, Movistar offers 4G+ coverage in a total of 57 cities across the country.
