M1 encourages subscribers to adopt ‘True 5G’ under upgrade programme

22 Sep 2022

Singapore’s third largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscriptions, M1, has said that from today (22 September) all mobile handset plans for new or re-contracting subscribers will be ‘True 5G’ – i.e. enabling access to its 5G Standalone (SA) network. Further, M1 is offering existing customers access to a free SIM upgrade and/or a handset ‘trade-up’ programme as part of efforts to move its base to the advanced technology.

M1’s 5G SA infrastructure now covers approximately 90% of the city-state including Central Business District (CBD), Marina Bay Financial Centre, key town centres and high data usage areas such as Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Chinatown, Clementi, Orchard Road, Pasir Ris, Paya Lebar, Sengkang, Tampines and Woodlands.
