16 Sep 2022

British pure fibre provider Zzoomm has announced that it has begun deployment of its infrastructure to premises in eight more market towns across England, those being: Bewdley, Bolton Upon Dearne, Hemsworth, Middlewich, Ripon, South Elmsall, Tadcaster and Thurnscoe. According to the operator, it will deliver fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) connectivity to 56,000 homes and business across these locations as part of a further investment of up to GBP44 million (USD51 million).

This latest announcement follows on from Zzoomm in May 2022 revealing plans to reach 86,000 premises across seven new towns with its network, namely: Congleton, Northwich, Sandbach, Sherburn-in-Elmet, Stokesley and Great Ayton, Winsford and Wombourne. Looking further ahead, meanwhile, the company has previously stated its aim is to have around one million premises across 85 towns within its network footprint by the end of 2025.

Commenting, Zzoomm CEO Matthew Hare said: ‘We are moving faster than ever before to expand our Full Fibre network. As we continue to expand and announce new Zzoomm towns, we see significant interest from residents in getting something better. Once our networks go live, we see strong uptake for our Full Fibre services. We now have over a quarter of a million homes and businesses live, in build or about to be built, and we will be announcing our next phase of towns in the coming weeks.’
