Qatar-based telecoms group Ooredoo is considering selling tower infrastructure in its home country and across other markets where it operates mobile network services, according to three unnamed people with knowledge of the matter quoted by Reuters. The sources claimed that discussions are ongoing, with no certainty that Ooredoo will decide on a sale. The operator declined to comment when contacted by Reuters.
Ooredoo has consolidated operating subsidiaries in Qatar, Iraq, Oman, Kuwait, Tunisia, Algeria, the Maldives and Palestinian Territory, alongside joint venture operations in Indonesia – Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison – while it is in the process of exiting Myanmar’s mobile market.
