Full-service provider Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GTT) has announced plans to accelerate its rollout of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure and is now targeting coverage of 75% of homes by 2024. Stabroek News cites GTT CEO Damian Blackburn as saying that the operator will invest a further GYD10 billion (USD45.6 million) – in addition to its current planned spend of around GYD22 billion – to achieve the goal. According to the official, GTT has deployed FTTH to more than 25,000 households since September 2021.
