The Bangladesh Railway has leased out its spare fibre-optic cables to five telecom companies and ISPs for a period of five years, The Daily Star writes. Under the agreement, Bahon will use a fibre network of 1,683.93km, Summit Communications 895.21km, Banglalink 595.39km, Robi 280.39km and Fiber@Home 177.81km. The railway operator will earn a total of BDT1.778 billion (USD18.39 million) via the deal.
