Sunrise to take over EBL’s telecom division

1 Sep 2022

Swiss full-service provider Sunrise has signed an agreement to acquire the telecom business of utility firm EBL for an undisclosed amount. In a joint statement the pair confirmed that the terms of the sale would not be made public. EBL has been active in the telecoms market since 2000, owns networks in around 200 municipalities and provides services to roughly 60,000 fixed and mobile customers. EBL’s customers will not be affected by the move, which is set to be completed in January 2023.

Sunrise CEO Andre Krause was quoted as saying of the acquisition: ‘EBL has been our network partner for 18 years now. As such, EBL telecom customers have already been benefiting from our mobile, landline, internet and TV services for a long time. With the takeover of EBL’s entire telecom division, we can provide direct and improved support for these customers. They can also look forward to even more innovative services.’
