Vodafone Group has reportedly entered into talks with Canadian pension fund Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec (CDPQ) regarding the sale of its remaining 21% shareholding in Indus Towers. According to the Economic Times, formal due diligence is expected to start imminently, although discussions are said to be at a preliminary stage.
TeleGeography notes that Indus Towers Limited was formed by the merger of Bharti Infratel Limited and Indus Towers. With 186,474 towers currently in operation, Indus Towers provides mobile coverage in all 22 telecoms circles across India.
