Cellcom confirms approval from MoC for passive infrastructure cooperation deal

22 Aug 2022

Israel’s Cellcom has announced that the Ministry of Communications (MoC) has given approval to a passive infrastructure cooperation agreement between the cellco, Pelephone and PHI Networks, the latter being the 50/50 joint venture partnership between Partner Communications and HOT Mobile. In a press release, Cellcom noted that approval for the deal from the ministry meant it now had ‘all the required approvals under the law to execute the cooperation according to the [agreement]’.

Previously, in November 2021 Cellcom had executed a frame agreement for expanding passive infrastructure cooperation at cell sites with Pelephone and PHI Networks, with it claiming that expanding cooperation with these companies ‘could ease and streamline the activity of constructing cell sites’.
