Belgian cable operator VOO has updated its fixed broadband tariff plans, with new customers now offered a choice of just two packages boasting significantly faster download speeds. The old ‘Relax’ plan has been renamed ‘Super Relax’ and its previous 125Mbps/6.5Mbps down/uplink boosted to 200Mbps/10Mbps for EUR52 (USD53) a month. The ‘Giga Max’ package (formerly ‘Max’), meanwhile, now provides maximum down/upload speeds of 1Gbps/20Mbps for EUR63 a month, although gigabit speeds – previously available only with the ‘Gigaboost’ option – are currently limited to Brussels, Liege, Charleroi, Wavre and some Walloon municipalities. Connections in other areas will be limited to 400Mbps.
The operator has also introduced the ‘TV Light’ package, providing access to 21 channels via the VOO TV+ app rather than a set-top box. While the new streaming service enables users to restart a programme from the beginning and access content broadcast in the last seven days, there is no recording functionality. TV Light is available as part of VOO’s multi-play bundled subscriptions for an additional EUR9 a month.
