EQT Infrastructure has combined two of its US fibre ISPs – North Carolina-based NorthState and Virginia’s Lumos Networks – under the unified Lumos brand. The enlarged entity already presides over networks passing 200,000 residential and business properties across the two locations. By 2026 Lumos expects to cover more than one million homes via 20,000 miles of route fibre.
TeleGeography notes that the companies in question remained under EQT’s ownership after the investor sold North Carolina-based Segra to Cox Communications in October 2021. That deal included commercial enterprise and carrier customers in nine states in the Mid-Atlantic and South-east.
