Hong Kong fixed and mobile operator HKT has reported a 3% increase in revenues for the six months ended 30 June 2022 to HKD16.16 billion (USD2.06 billion). Revenues excluding mobile handset sales were up 5% at HKD14.87 billion, with growth driven by strong demand for fixed broadband services and ‘growing adoption’ of 5G services in both the consumer and enterprise segments. EBITDA rose 2% to HKD2.38 billion, while profit attributable to shareholders increased by 1% to HKD1.91 billion.
HKT claimed 4.82 million mobile subscriptions at the end of June 2022, excluding MVNO users, up from 4.48 million twelve months earlier. Fixed broadband subscriptions rose from 1.63 million to 1.64 million over the same period.
