Swisscom H1 turnover dips 1.6%

5 Aug 2022

Swiss state-backed full-service provider Swisscom has booked net revenue of CHF5.49 billion (USD5.73 billion) for the first six months of 2022, down by 1.6% compared to H1 2021. Similarly, EBITDA for the six-month period declined by 5.4% year-on-year to CHF2.19 billion and net income fell by 25.0% to CHF785 million. Swisscom attributed the drop primarily to non-recurring items in the previous year, including the sale of its stake in Belgacom International Carrier Services and the transfer of its Italian subsidiary Fastweb’s stake in infrastructure joint venture Flash Fiber to FiberCop as part of its partnership with TIM. In terms of subscriptions Swisscom booked a slight decline (0.2% year-on-year) in mobile accesses in Switzerland, to 6.16 million whilst fixed broadband and TV subscriptions were flat at 2.03 million and 1.58 million, respectively.
