Sky Brazil plots FTTH launch via neutral network

5 Aug 2022

Pay-TV/TD-LTE operator Sky Brasil Servicos (Sky Brazil) has revealed that it plans to launch a new fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) fixed broadband service in the coming weeks. Speaking at the ‘Pay-TV Forum 2022’, company president Raphael Denadai indicated that the service will leverage the infrastructure of an unnamed neutral network provider.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Sky Brazil launched TD-LTE connectivity back in December 2011. However, the company served just 151,298 fixed broadband subscriptions as of 30 June 2022, down from a peak of 365,695 in September 2018.
