Indian cellco Vodafone Idea (Vi) has booked gross revenue of INR104.1 billion (USD1.3 billion) for the three months to end-June 2022, an increase of 13.7% compared to INR91.5 billion in the same period of 2021 and an improvement of 1.7% quarter-on-quarter. The operator attributed the revenue growth primarily to recent tariff increases, which saw ARPU grow to INR128 from INR124 in the previous quarter and INR104 a year earlier. EBITDA for the quarter was INR43.3 billion, an increase of 16.7% from INR37.1 billion year-on-year but narrowing from INR46.5 billion q-o-q. Net loss for the period was flat y-o-y, at INR73.0 billion.
Vi counted a total of 240.4 million mobile subscriptions at the end of June 2022, down from 255.4 million a year earlier, of which 119.0 million were 4G subscriptions (112.9 million in June 2021).
