Globe Telecom has revealed it hopes to be among the first Southeast Asian providers to launch fibre-to-the-room (FTTR) after successful testing of the technology. The telco announced today (29 July) that FTTR is an innovation provided by Globe At Home that will help customers maximise Wi-Fi signals and avoid dead spots in large spaces, houses and buildings with thick multiple concrete walls and floors, and many connected devices. FTTR aims to build an all-optical base for whole-home Wi-Fi, extending ultra-high speed coverage to every room and enabling gigabit Wi-Fi 6 coverage to create an enhanced digital experience.
