Ooredoo Group H1 sales, EBITDA climb 4%, 2%

28 Jul 2022

Qatar-based multinational telecoms group Ooredoo posted consolidated revenue for the half-year ended 30 June 2022 of QAR11.086 billion (USD2.943 billion), an increase of 4% compared to the same period last year on a pro forma basis. Due to the merger of Indosat Ooredoo and Hutchison’s operations in Indonesia in January 2022, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) revenue, EBITDA, subscriptions and CAPEX are no longer consolidated as IOH is classified as a joint venture company.

Ooredoo’s group EBITDA for the six months ended 30 June 2022 was QAR4.555 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2%, while H1 CAPEX fell 21% y-o-y to QAR965 million. First-half net profit stood at QAR1.326 billion, up 43% y-o-y. The consolidated subscription base was reported at 55 million at end-2Q22, a 6% pro forma y-o-y decrease from 58 million at mid-2021, as Ooredoo noted growth in most of its markets offset by a decline in Myanmar.
