Vodafone 5G SA reaches 15m Germans

27 Jul 2022

Vodafone Germany has announced that its 5G Standalone (5G SA) network now covers 15 million people. The firm launched its 5G SA network, which it has dubbed ‘5G+’, in April 2021 and the service is now supported on a total of 24 smartphones and tablets. Vodafone states that 5G SA will be activated at each 5G station with a view to achieving almost nationwide coverage by 2025. The network uses frequencies in both the 3.5GHz and 700MHz bands.

Vodafone adds that it has activated 13,000 additional 5G antennas since the start of the year, bringing the total to 34,000, providing total combined 5G coverage to 55 million Germans.
