Mediacom selects Samsung for rural CBRS rollout

25 Jul 2022

US cableco Mediacom Communications has selected Samsung Electronics America for the deployment of a fixed wireless access (FWA) network using Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) spectrum. The network will target ‘hard-to-reach rural communities across the US’. Mediacom says it holds a total of 576 CBRS licences covering 178 counties within its current cable footprint. The concessions encompass mid-band spectrum in the 3.5GHz-3.7GHz range. JR Walden, Chief Technology Officer at Mediacom, commented: ‘We look forward to working together to deliver high-speed connectivity to those households that have historically not been reached before.’
