Positive Q2 for Du

Du of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reported a 9.9% annual increase in revenues for the second quarter of 2022 to AED3.14 billion (USD855 million). Growth was attributed to ‘sustained demand for broadband and mobile services’. EBITDA improved by 12.1% to AED1.27 billion thanks to a sharp increase in service revenues and gross margin expansion, while net profit increased by 26.2% to AED303 million.

Du’s mobile subscription base rose 13.0% in the year to 30 June 2022 to 7.4 million, while the fixed broadband subscription total climbed by 35,000 in three months to reach 473,000.

Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of Du, said: ‘I am really delighted by this quarter’s performance. We have delivered three consecutive quarters of improvements and growth. Crucially, our service revenues have been and will continue to be a significant driver of profitability.’
