Vodafone extends 5G to 1,000 beaches in 173 Spanish municipalities

Vodafone Spain has extended its 5G networks to a total of 1,004 beaches across 173 municipalities, as it ramps up its 700MHz rollout. The bulk of the summer 5G rollout activity has focused on Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, the Basque Country, Catalonia, Andalusia, the Valencian Community, Murcia, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands.

Going forward, Vodafone is targeting 46% population coverage (983 municipalities) by end-2022. Of these, 133 are towns with more than 50,000 inhabitants, 605 towns are home to between 1,000 and 50,000 people, and the remaining 245 locations are home to less than 1,000 inhabitants.
