9 Jun 2022

Up-and-coming Gambian ISP DK Telecom has announced the expansion of its fixed broadband services to the West Coast region of the country with a launch in Brikama, as it continues a strategy to offer high speed internet to all regions nationwide. According to its website, locally-owned DK provides home and office fixed connections with speeds of between 5Mbps and 10Mbps alongside custom services with higher data rates for corporate customers.

Separately, state-owned Gambia Telecommunications Company (Gamtel) also reported the latest expansion of its high speed fibre broadband coverage in the West Coast region, naming the new locations as Paradise Estate/Abuko/Paradise View on 7 June. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Gamtel’s fibre internet range under the ‘G Fibre’ banner was launched in mid-2019, initially in Greater Banjul before expanding to other western areas including Brufut.
