Salt Q1 revenue ticks up 3.9%

25 May 2022

Swiss full-service provider Salt has booked a 3.9% year-on-year increase in first quarter revenue, with turnover of CHF260.2 million (USD270.1 million) for the first three months of 2022 compared to CHF250.5 million in Q1 2021. The growth was driven by continuing improvement in post-paid service revenue, which Salt attributed to an increase in subscription volume – albeit offset by lower ARPU – and an increase in sales of equipment and accessories. The operator counted a total of 1.814 million mobile subscriptions, including 1.394 million post-paid accounts, at the end of March 2022 up from a total of 1.830 million and 1.325 million post-paid lines a year earlier. Quarterly EBITDA stood at CHF129.3 million, an increase of 4.6% year-on-year, whilst Free Cash Flow rose to CHF47.8 million from CHF39.8 million in Q1 2021. Salt provided little information regarding its fibre-based broadband operations but noted that it had recorded ‘continued strong growth’ in the residential segment and positive net additions in the B2B segment for an eleventh consecutive quarter.
