Sunrise to retire UPC brand

20 May 2022

Swiss full-service provider Sunrise UPC has announced that Sunrise will be the company’s main brand from 23 May, with business customers to be served by Sunrise Business. Customers served by the operator’s retiring UPC brand will continue to receive their services under that brand name, the company confirmed in a statement, adding that they can benefit from the features of the company’s other brands. As noted by TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Sunrise UPC was created from the merger of UPC Switzerland and Sunrise Communications in May 2021 after UPC acquired a majority stake in Sunrise in November 2020.

As part of the brand refresh, the operator has launched a new series of offerings dubbed ‘Sunrise Up’ providing customers with discounts and benefits totalling between CHF20 and CHF100 (USD20.5 to USD102.3) per month. Sunrise Up Mobile customers receive a discount of 50% discount for additional mobile subscriptions whilst 5G connectivity with download speeds of up to 2Gbps is offered to all Up Mobile and ‘Up Internet’ (i.e. fixed broadband) customers. Meanwhile, customers that subscribe to more than one service receive a discount on their total bill of CHF20.
