ISP gazes over the Horizon with new 1Gbps offer

18 May 2022

Bermudan ISP Horizon Communications (Wave Bermuda) has launched a new range of ultra-high speed broadband packages for businesses, claiming its wireless technology can deliver speeds of 1Gbps across the country. The Royal Gazette writes that Horizon is using the Terragraph solution created through a partnership between Qualcomm and Facebook, aided by local network partner Siklu, enabling ’extremely high bandwidth and data speed’. Horizon founder Gilbert A Darrell is quoted as saying: ‘Horizon Communications is dedicated to providing groundbreaking internet service to Bermuda, and we recognise the business community has been hit hard over the past two years … With our new business plans, we’re dropping the price of business internet service in Bermuda by 25% to 50%’. He went on to note the new plans offer small business packages starting from BMD109 (USD109) per month while the prices for enterprise grade, dedicated, symmetrical high bandwidth packages are reportedly ‘half their previous costs’.
