Shareholders in British broadband provider TalkTalk have reportedly received tentative approaches regarding a possible sale of the company which would value it at around GBP3 billion (USD3.9 billion). According to Sky News, it recently learned that Vodafone Group has been weighing up whether to make an offer for TalkTalk in recent weeks, while Comcast-owned Sky was also said to have been examining whether to table a bid.

Meanwhile, the report claims that investment bank Lazard has been fielding approaches for TalkTalk from prospective buyers and investment banks. However, the news report did cite one unnamed insider as stressing that TalkTalk had yet to formally receive any offers, while saying there was no certainty any would be forthcoming.
