Altice USA to rebrand Suddenlink unit as Optimum

Altice USA has disclosed plans to rebrand its Suddenlink unit as Optimum. A statement on the Suddenlink website notes: ‘Bit by bit, we’re making big changes. Suddenlink is becoming Optimum and we’re taking important steps to better connect you … You will notice the introduction of Optimum in our advertising, retail stores, and other materials, and by the end of the year, Suddenlink will officially become Optimum.’

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Altice USA was formed in June 2016, following the completion of Altice Group’s USD17.7 billion acquisition of Cablevision Systems (trading as Optimum). Previously, in December 2015, Altice closed the USD9.1 billion takeover of Suddenlink.
