Ericsson has announced the signing of a contract with MTN Group for the deployment of mobile financial services in Sudan. The Swedish vendor says it is providing MTN Sudan with a ‘flexible, reliable and efficient m-commerce solution’ that includes the Ericsson Wallet Platform, systems integration, operational support, and solution development. The solution will provide a more agile and compliant IT architecture to enhance performance in managing the flow of transactions and to help promote financial inclusion and economic development in Sudan. The Ericsson Wallet Platform allows users to securely store, transfer and withdraw money, pay merchants and utility providers as well as use financial services like savings and loans.
