Paris-based telecoms company Iliad Group has published its financial results for the twelve months ended 31 December 2021, reporting a 29.2% increase in its consolidated revenues to EUR7.587 billion (USD8.37 billion) from EUR5.871 billion in 2020, with its operations in France generating EUR5.195 billion (up 3.8% year-on-year), while its Italian unit contributed revenue of EUR802 million by end-2021 (up 19.0% y-o-y). Newly acquired unit Play in Poland, meanwhile, generated revenues of EUR1.600 billion in the twelve months under review. EBITDAaL in 2021 was EUR2.949 billion, up 50.7% y-o-y (broken down as EUR2.185 billion in France, EUR80 million in Italy and EUR684 million in Poland), while profit for the period reached EUR526 million (EUR420 million in 2020). Consolidated CAPEX also increased, by 22.9% y-o-y, to EUR2.283 billion (EUR1.858 billion in 2020).
In operational terms, Iliad Group’s mobile subscription base in its domestic market reached 13.611 million by 31 December 2021, up from 13.376 million in 2020. In Italy, Iliad reported a total of 8.505 million mobile subscriptions at end-December, up from 7.235 million in 2020, while Poland had a total of 12.129 million mobile subscriptions (11.948 million in 2020). The number of broadband subscriptions in France, meanwhile, reached 6.925 million, with fibre subscriptions standing at 3.773 million (2.803 million in 2020). The number of connectable fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) nodes, meanwhile, reached 25.500 million (19.900 million at end-2020), with a target to cover 30 million by year-end.
