The RUNE project, which aims to deploy broadband infrastructure in rural parts of Slovenia and Croatia, has secured an additional EUR130 million (USD143 million) funding from a group of four European banks. The project aims to cover more than 200,000 addresses in Slovenia and almost 150,000 in Croatia. RUNE’s main investor is the Connecting Europe Broadband Fund (CEBF), which is backing a number of similar open-access schemes across Europe.
