FiberLight taps Fujitsu for 400G upgrade

Georgia-based broadband provider FiberLight has enlisted Japanese vendor Fujitsu Network Communications to deploy its Fujitsu 1FINITY platform to enhance its high-bandwidth fibre network. The press release notes: ‘With 400G wavelength capability and next-generation ROADM technology in a compact blade, Fujitsu enables FiberLight to deliver high-capacity 400 GbE services over their existing fibre network serving both major and rural markets throughout Texas.’

According to its website, FiberLight currently operates 14,000 route miles of fibre networks connecting 430 US cities. The telco has a key presence in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, DC.
