Telenor Montenegro has changed its name to ‘One’ and adopted a new visual identity following its acquisition by Hungary’s 4iG in December. At a press conference on Wednesday, the operator said the new brand will bring ‘new energy to the market, a direct and transparent attitude towards everyone, and concrete improvements in the user experience’. In the coming weeks, the One brand will be adopted across the company, including the website, mobile apps, retail outlets and customer support channels; the new website domain 1.me and app will be introduced on 7 March.
‘Empowered by the knowledge and experience of our new owner, the time has come for us to step into a new important chapter in our journey. Even after the change of the brand, One will continue to provide the top service that our customers are used to,’ said Branko Mitrovic, CEO of One, adding: ‘Following the successful completion of the spectrum auction in December, we are ready for the future, which includes upgrading our network and 5G technology.’
Hungarian IT service management company 4iG completed the acquisition of 100% of Telenor Montenegro from Dutch-registered PPF Group in December 2021 for an undisclosed sum, following approval by the Montenegrin competition authority. Telenor Montenegro, which operates an LTE network covering 98% of the population, claimed 357,701 mobile subscriptions and a 31.9% share of the market at 31 December 2021.
