Orange announces Telekom Romania Communications name change

Orange Romania has announced the start of a new phase in its integration plan for Telekom Romania Communications following the acquisition of a 54% controlling stake in the fixed services operator from Greek telco OTE last September. With effect from 28 March 2022 Telekom Romania Communications will be renamed Orange Romania Communications and its customers will have access to the main Orange contact channels, while the official website for both companies will be The transformation process will also see Telekom’s stores gradually become Orange outlets and Telekom branding removed from invoices and product names. Orange Romania Communications will, however, continue to operate separately, as a subsidiary of Orange Romania.

Commenting on the integration process, Orange Romania CEO Liudmila Climoc said: ‘From 30 September 2021 we started to write together with our reunited teams, Orange and Orange Romania Communications, a common story, with the ambition of being the first choice of customers for convergent services in Romania. The changes announced today mean going through a learning stage, understanding the processes and systems, transforming and establishing a way of working that will allow us to offer customers a unified, superior experience. We have gone through these internal alignment steps so that from 28 March we can provide our customers and partners with unique channels and support points, as well as the same quality experience provided by a united and well-trained team.’
