Ooredoo launches dedicated LTE for oil and gas industry

Ooredoo Qatar has launched a dedicated LTE network service for the oil and gas industry in partnership with Nokia and Ericsson, the telco announced at Mobile World Congress 2022. The new LTE network will be dedicated to maintaining connectivity and supporting data and voice in remote, challenging locations, and will replace WiMAX/Wi-Fi solutions at offshore facilities. Ooredoo added that its dedicated LTE solutions will also provide foundations for oil and gas companies to digitalise and automate operations and prepare for the Industry 4.0 future.
